For 2010, Let's All "Hope"
2:48 PM
This wonderful piece by Filipino-Canadian artist, Francis Manapul, serves as a glimmering light at the end of the proverbial year-end tunnel. This beautiful & engaging piece is his contribution to a benefit book called Renaissance. This book, which will be available early 2010, will include many other Pinoy artists with proceeds going to the flood victims in the Philippines.
As we all experienced in one way or another, 2009 was quite a turbulent year. From economic instability, loss of jobs, natural disasters, loss of lives by the masses, scandals, or never-ending-pointless wars - we all have been involved in such stories personally or through friends & family. I think its safe to say that we are all ready to close the book on 2009.
The piece by Mr. Manapul is fittingly named "Hope". We all can use some of this in one form or another for the new year. Let's be reminded that you don't have to fly or have super-powers to be a hero. Putting compassion into a little action is all it takes. Happy New Year everyone & 1luv...
