RIP Dick Giordano
7:02 PM
Dick Giordano, one of the premiere giants among comicbook legends passed away this week. As a kid all I knew about Giordano was his name that graced some of my favorite covers and after digging through the collection I found two of them.
What I have come to learn today is that Giordano is a primary reason for the more mature and graphic feel in comics with his leadership as a VP and Executive Editor at DC-- helping to usher in classics like Alan Moore's Watchmen & Frank Miller's Dark Knight Returns. DC Source put together a great post on how he has impacted some of the creative leadership at DC today.
If you are around SF during Wondercon this weekend come to celebrate his works and one of his regular collaborators- Ed Hannigan along with other fans, creators and the Hero Initiative at the Cartoon Museum on Friday.
