if you don't know, now you know- DC & Marvel Power Moves
11:13 AM
DC Entertainment has just made official announcements on organizational shifts to their multimedia and digital business functions with plans to pack up & move West to the WB mothership in Burbank, CA.
DCE Prez, Diane Nelsen states-
So while DC Comics will remain in the NYC, the move that has been long suspected for DCE is now a reality.
Marvel Entertainment on the other hand have cemented and bolstered their presence in Gotham yesterday, by taking on a 60,000 sq.ft office space in the Sports Illustrated building, which would allow for consolidation of offices and put all of the Marvel U staffers in one, large space.
Though all of this Industry news seems at the most lukewarm, in comparison to what could of been a dramatic rebirth of the Eastcoast /Westcoast feud with DCE announcing a move to the West for all of their respective units today, this may just be a linchpin of what is to come in the next few years. Well, until that day comes-- the battle lines are drawn-- where do your loyalties lie?

DCE Prez, Diane Nelsen states-
These organizational changes reinforce the strengths of DC’s greatest legacies – most importantly its people and its creative talent – and offer greater opportunity for maximum growth, success and efficiency in the future,” said Nelson. “Our two offices will stretch and build their respective areas of focus, while prioritizing and aggressively striving to connect and cooperate more strongly than ever before between them and with their colleagues at Warner Bros.
This strategic business realignment allows us to fully integrate and expand the DC brand in feature films as well as across multiple distribution platforms of Warner Bros. and Time Warner,” said Jeff Robinov, President, Warner Bros. Pictures Group, to whom Nelson reports. “We are creating a seamless, cohesive unit that will bring even more great characters and content to consumers everywhere.
