New Trailer! Green Lantern - Summer 2011
6:23 PM
So you say that you are not so pumped after watching the ET Green Lantern teaser from last Friday huh? Well...I can't say that the sequencing and initial low-quality res did it any justice. But after some progressive-high-temporal Apple HD treatment and well an additional 2 minutes worth of footage-- you gotta love it yeah?!
Ryan Reynolds as a young Hal seems like a perfect fit to the testosterone, fly-boy, GL recruit that is a far contrast to the more seasoned, heroic veteran that Jordan has grown into in the world of DC comics. Blake Lively appears to be decent for the mere eye-candy role that we all know she is being scripted for. Tomar-re, Sinestro and Kilowog floating around OA gave me goosebumps in their CG-laden debuts.
And Peter Sarsgaard as Hector Hammond looks straight scary. So dope to have such strong actors to help balance the heavy-lifting this-- let's speak real-- new WB film franchise will be burdened with in the absence of the Harry Potter films. Dope inclusion of Hal's classic fist-construct and gotta say it's a bummer Prop 19 didn't roll through cause you know that those Green Lantern Bongs woulda been a hit!
I can't wait to see more and more of the concept art and footage as it is released, but as a die-hard Geoff Johns' era- Green Lantern head I can say that this trailer looks to deliver a finished product on June 17th that meets with what has become a fanatical interest in everything with the GL-logo.
I know you want to watch this over and over again, like I did so do yourself a favor and download it in HD and throw it on your phone so you can make all your friends jealous of your mad knowledge of all that is OA.

In a universe as vast as it is mysterious, a small but powerful force has existed for centuries. Protectors of peace and justice, they are called the Green Lantern Corps. A brotherhood of warriors sworn to keep intergalactic order, each Green Lantern wears a ring that grants him superpowers. But when a new enemy called Parallax threatens to destroy the balance of power in the Universe, their fate and the fate of Earth lie in the hands of their newest recruit, the first human ever selected: Hal Jordan. Hal is a gifted and cocky test pilot, but the Green Lanterns have little respect for humans, who have never harnessed the infinite powers of the ring before. But Hal is clearly the missing piece to the puzzle, and along with his determination and willpower, he has one thing no member of the Corps has ever had: humanity. With the encouragement of fellow pilot and childhood sweetheart Carol Ferris (Blake Lively), if Hal can quickly master his new powers and find the courage to overcome his fears, he may prove to be not only the key to defeating Parallax...he will become the greatest Green Lantern of all.
